Facebook owned photo sharing app Instagram has launched a new feature called going live with a friend which let’s you add another person in your live stream. The new feature in now available in version 20 of Instagram App for Android and iOS.
The feature will roll out globally in the coming weeks. Instagram announced this in a blog post stating ” Live video helps you share in an authentic way, but sometimes it can be intimidating when you’re on your own. It’s easy to add a guest while you’re broadcasting.
Simply tap the new icon on the bottom right and tap Add to invite anyone who’s currently watching. Once they join, you’ll see the screen split into two and your friend pop up right below you.”
The guest can exist the live stream any time he/she wants and you can also remove the person if you want to add another person. If someone you follow is going live with a friend you will see two circles on their story instead of one.
It will be interesting to see how creators and most importantly influences take advantage of this feature as it will open many more opportunities for them. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned to Sid Tech for more tech updates.
