Hey whats-up guys welcome to 36th episode episode of the tech updates, let’s get started. Xiaomi has finally launched a new smartphone series in India called the Redmi Y. This series is focused on selfie loving customers. Xiaomi has today launched two new smartphones under this series called the Redmi Yi 1 and Redmi Y1 Lite.
Redmi Y1 comes with a 5.5 inch HD display with 2.5D curved glass protection on top. It is powered by the Snapdragon 435 processor coupled with 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of internal storage . The 3GB RAM variant starts at ₹8,999 and the 4GB RAM variant ₹10,999.
It comes with a 16 megapixel selfie shooter and runs on MIUI 8 with MIUI 9 update coming mid November. The rear camera is of 13 megapixel with PDAF and f/2.2 aperture. Redmi Yi Lite comes with a 5.5 inch HD display. It is powered by the Snapdragon 425 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It also comes with a 13 megapixel rear camera with PDAF and a 5 megapixel front facing camera.
It comes with a 3,080 mAh battery and runs on MIUI 8 with MIUI 9 update coming mid November. Both the smartphones supports expandable storage via MicroSD. Both the Dual SIM smartphones comes with a metal like design and a rear placed fingerprint scanner on the Redmi Yi 1.
The smartphones will be available to buy via Mi.com and Amazon India from 8th November 12 Noon. It will also be available via Mi home and Xiaomi’s other offline partners. Oppo has finally launched it’s selfie smartphone Oppo F5 in India. The smartphone is priced at ₹19,990 for the 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage.While the 6GB RAM variant is priced at 24,990. It will go on sale on 9th November exclusively via Flipkart.
The Oppo F5 sports a 6 inch Full HD+ 18:9 aspect ratio display and is powered by the octa core MediaTek MT6763T processor coupled with 4GB or 6GB of RAM. Price of the 6GB variant has not been revealed yet. It comes with 32GB/64GB of internal storage expandable via MicroSD upto 256GB.
HTC has finally launched two new smartphone today called the HTC U11+ and the HTC U11 Life. HTC U11+ is priced at EUR 799 around ₹60,000 and will go on sale in select markets, on the other hand U11 Life is T-Mobile Exclusive smartphone in US at a price of $349 around ₹22,500. We don’t know if it will be available outside US or not.
HTC U11+ sports a 6 inch Quad HD+ edge to edge bezel-less display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top. It is powered by the Snapdragon 835 processor coupled with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. 6GB RAM variant is only available in Europe.
It sports a 12 megapixel Ultra pixel rear sensor with f/1.7 aperture and 8 megapixel front shooter with f/2.0 for selfies. It houses a 3930mAh battery and comes with QuickCharge 3.0 support. It comes with both the Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa and the phone comes with squeeze functionality.
IT will be available in Ceramic Black, Amazing Silver, and Translucent Black colors. The HTC U11 Life is powered by the Snapdragon 630 SoC coupled with 3GB or 4G RAM and 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. It comes with a 5.2 inch Full HD display and a 2600 mAh Battery.
As it is an Android One device it runs on the stock version of Android Oreo and will receive software updates directly from Google.
