In November 2017, we told you that Amazon India is all set to bring the Amazon Prime music subscription to India. Amazon Prime Music will come at no-additional-cost and Prime members can enjoy the new music streaming service for free. Now Amazon has announced a deal with Zee Music Company to provide songs on the platform.
According to Amazon with this deal, Amazon prime music will add over 450 soundtracks in Hindi and regional languages alongside 250 independent artists. Zee Music will add a wide range of Indian and international songs on the Amazon Prime music. Amazon is still saying that it will launch the service soon but have not given a time-frame for the launch.
Sahas Malhotra, Director Amazon Music, India commented, “We are thrilled to partner with Zee Music to strengthen Amazon Prime Music’s catalog for our customers. At launch, Amazon Prime Music customers can enjoy listening to all the hits and forthcoming releases from Zee Music’s catalog ad-free, at no additional cost for our Prime members. Amazon Prime Music in addition to offering unlimited, on-demand access to millions of Indian and international songs across varied genres and languages will also offer customers hundreds of especially hand-curated playlists and stations to enjoy their favorite music”.
The latest movie albums available via the Zee Music company are Padman, Half-Girlfriend, Udta Punjab etc. We hope Amazon India launched the service by mid-February and comes with a lot of good content to compete with services like Ganna and Saavan.
