HMD Global owned Nokia is all set to launch its first flagship smartphone for the year 2018 called the Nokia 9 next month at Mobile World Congress 2018. Along with Nokia 9, the company is also expected to launch the first Android Go smartphone called the Nokia 1. Nokia had recently launched its Nokia 7 smartphone in China so there might be a global launch of the device too at the event.
Recently Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer, HMD Global, also tweeted that the company has been planning something awesome for the MWC 2018. Though he did not mention any smartphone name or gave any hint but if we look at previous leaks and rumors, two smartphones have shown up quite frequently.
While we don’t know much about Nokia 1 other than it being an Android Go device, A recent leak shows the possible design of the smartphone. Nokia 1 is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 212 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. We have quite a lot information about the Nokia 9.
The device will run on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box and will have a 5.5 inch OLED display from LG. The smartphone will run on Snapdragon 835 processor, After the launch of Snapdragon 845, going for 835 is not a wise decision. It will sport a dual rear camera setup with 12 megapixel and 13-megapixel sensors. Nokia 9 will house a 3250mAh battery and will support fast charging.
These are the specifications of the highest end variant with no details about the RAM. A leaked image from Weibo shows thinner bezels with 18:9 OLED display and a dual camera setup at the front too with a 5-megapixel resolution of one lens. Stay tuned to Sid Tech for more tech updates.
