In 2017, we saw some quad-camera smartphones from Huawei’s sub-brand Honor. Cameras has now become one of the biggest selling points for a smartphone and last year was all about the dual camera setups. But loos like HMD Global owned Nokia is all set to take the camera game to the next level with a 5 camera smartphone.
According to a new report, Nokia is looking forward to introducing a Penta-Lens smartphone at MWC 2018. Nokia has already made a prototype of the device and it could go on sale by end of 2018. Nokia will be announcing it at Mobile World Congress and the sale would depend upon the manufacturing process as producing a 5 camera setup is not easy.
The camera system will be available in a circular form and will have seven holes instead of the usual five holes. Nokia has partnered with Zeiss Optics in past and might work again on this Penta-lens smartphone. It will be interesting to see how Nokia will utilize these 5 lenses as we have seen companies not utilizing dual camera setup to bring out something unique.
HMD Global’s Chief Product Officer had also teased that Nokia will be coming up with something awesome at Mobile World Congress 2018. Along with this, the company is also expected to launch the first Android Go smartphone called Nokia 1. And its flagship smartphone of the year called Nokia 9.
