Last week, WhatsApp rolled out WhatsApp business app as a free app on Google Play Store. The app was available in Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, the U.K. and the U.S. Now Facebook-owned company has launched the app in India. It started with a limited testing with BookMyShow and MakeMyTrip in India. Now the company has announced the Whatsapp Business app for small business.
WhatsApp for business will enable a green verification badge like we have on Facebook an Twitter for verified businesses, which will give them an official WhatsApp account and customers will know where to reach them. It will take time for WhatsApp to confirm your account and give you a verified badge.
It comes with features like quick replies that provide fast answers to frequently asked questions, greeting messages that introduce customers to your business, and away messages that let them know you’re busy. You can also list your useful information such as a business description, email or store addresses, and website.
“People can continue using WhatsApp as usual — there’s no need to download anything new. And people will continue to have full control over the messages they receive, with the ability to block any number, including businesses, as well as report spam.” Whatsapp said in the blog post.
If you are not a business person and has a normal account you have the ability to block any number, including businesses, as well as report spam. So if you want to have a verified Whatsapp business account you can download the Whatsapp for business app from the Google Play. Stay tuned to Sid Tech for more tech updates.
