Yesterday, We told you that Xiaomi is working on the successor of its popular Mi 5X or Mi A1 smartphone. Earlier leaks showed that the Mi 6X will have an iPhone X like vertical dual camera setup. Now the latest leaked images confirmed it and also shows a 18:9 aspect ratio display.
The latest leak came from Weibo, spotted by OnPhones. It shows the smartphone from the front and the back. It shows an iPhone X like vertical dual camera setup at the back and a18:9 aspect ratio display at the front. Though the display is not a bezel-less display and has the top, bottom and side bezels like the OnePlus 5T.
The leaked images also show a rear placed fingerprint scanner at the back just like on the Mi 5X or Mi A1 for the global variant. Xiaomi might showcase the smartphone next month at the Mobile World Congress 2018. It will come with an octa-core Surge S2 processor in which 4 cores of Cortex-A73 will be clocked at 2.2GHz and four lower powered 1.8Ghz Cortex A53. The processor will be coupled with Mali G71 MP8 GPU and will have LPDDR4 RAM.
We can expect Xiaomi to launch Mi 6X in India as Mi A2 sometime in June 2018. The global variant should run on stock Android with Android One program just like on its predecessor. It will be interesting to see if Xiaomi will launch the Global variant with its Surge S2 chip or will go with a Snapdragon counterpart. Stay tuned to Sid Tech for more tech updates.
