Amazon is all set to launch its music streaming service in India called the Amazon Prime Music. We have already told you that Amazon has partnered with Sony Music, Zee Music company, and Saregama for music. Now the company has partnered with Venus Music label. Amazon Prime Music will come at no-additional-cost and Prime members can enjoy the new music streaming service for free.
Amazon Prime Music continues to strengthen its catalog across the decades of the 90s and 00s as well as its selection in Hindi, Marathi, Bhojpuri and Punjabi languages to ensure we offer the best selection to our customers. With the addition of Venus Music, Prime members will have access to super hits from Dil Se, Baazigar, Yes Boss and several other Bollywood hits curated across hundreds of playlists and stations.” said Sahas Malhotra, Director, Amazon Music, India.
According to Amazon, This partnership with Venus music label will bring immensely popular tracks that ruled the Indian Music Industry during the 90’s and 2000’s. Venus music comes with albums from some the greatest artists in India like A.R Rahman, Jagjit Singh, Anu Malik, Pritam etc. This will add more than 1,000 international and Indian songs to the music streaming service.
Amazon is still saying that it will launch the service soon but have not given a time-frame for the launch. We hope Amazon India launches the service soon as they have delayed it quite a bit. Let’s see if Prime Music will be able to compete with services like Ganna and Saavan. Are you an Amazon Prime member?
