The release is expected to happen on 14th March 2018. 14th March is celebrated as the “Pie Day” and Android 9 is also expected to be called Android Pie. Popular tipster Evan Blass tweeted that Android P Developer Preview 1 will be available for eligible users around mid-march 2018.
As soon as Blass tweeted this, users around the world started saying that we can expect March 14 release as it is celebrated as Pie Day. Google has always expected the hype around the Android naming at peak but looks like this year we will get to know the name a bit early via the developer preview.
Though Google is expected to reveal the name at the Google I/O only. But tech enthusiasts around the world will use the developer preview to solve this mystery. Also according to a report by XDA Developers, Android P might come with enhanced call blocking feature built into the stock dialer app.
The feature will allow users to block calls from certain sources. According to the report it includes cases when the phone number is not in your contact list when it is a private number When it is from a pay phone and lastly when the number does not have caller information.
