HTC is all set to launch its latest flagship smartphone HTC U12 later this year. The smartphone is due for its annual update in May 2018 and looks like HTC is all ready for the launch. According to the latest leak, the HTC U12 is codenamed HTC Imagine internally and will support Google’s Project Trebble.
For those of you who don’t know, Project Trebble is a program by Google which reduces the time takin the process of providing a new software update from Google to OEM’s like HTC. In short HTC U12 will receive fast android Updates. Popular smartphone tipster, LlavTooFer tweeted the specifications of the smartphone.
The HTC’s 2018 flagship will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with 6GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage on the top-end variant. The smartphone will sport a 5.99-inch QHD+ 18:9 aspect ratio display with thin bezels. The U12 will run on Android Oreo out of the box with HTC Sense UI 10 and Edge Sense UI 2.0 on top.
Talking about EdgeSense it will also come with HTC’s Squeeze feature, which lets you do certain tasks by squeezing your smartphone. According to him, the smartphone will have a dual camera setup at the back, with a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 12-megapixel secondary sensor. Both the Sensors are from Sony and there will be an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.
The HTC U12 will house a 3420mAh battery and will be available in both Single and Dual SIM variants. We also expect the smartphone to come with the popular Face unlock technology and it will be IP68 water and dust proof. We will know more about the device in coming weeks.
