The biggest smartphone event in the world Mobile World Congress(MWC) 2018 brought us some amazing smartphones, some are true innovation and some are just slight of an upgrade. So today let’s do a quick MWC 2018 Roundup!

1.Samsung Galaxy S9:

Samsung at the event grabbed everyone’s attention with their flagship smartphone the Galaxy S9 and S9+. Well the phone looks similar to its predecessor but it has so much to offer, they brought AR Emoji( A sweet/clone version of Animoji but with Samsung’s flavour), Intelligent face scanning technology, a Variable aperture camera sensor which gives users to switch aperture from within one camera, a 960 fps Super Slow motion video, improved Dex and Bixby and the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 or the Exynos 9810 with 4GB or 6GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with a 64GB of onboard storage which is expandable up to 400GB.

2.Nokia’s Smartphone Lineup:

Nokia at MWC had some biggest announcements(at least in numbers) they announced five different smartphones. The Nokia’s flagship Nokia 8 Sirroco, Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 6 2018, Nokia 1 and the “‘so-called’ banana phone the Nokia 8810 4G.

Nokia 8 Sirroco is Nokia’s latest flagship which has a 5.5-inch curved display, with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 which is slightly an old chipset and a 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The smartphone also features dual Zeiss cameras.

Nokia 1 is an Android Go smartphone which features a MediaTek chipset and 1GB of RAM. The Nokia 8810 4G is a refreshed version of older Nokia 8810 with 4G enabled in it. The Nokia 8810 also comes with some Google apps such as Maps, Gmail etc.

3.Vivo Apex:

Vivo is back with it’s new Vivo APEX smartphone which actually is a concept phone by Vivo and has no plans to launch. The Vivo APEX smartphone grabbed everyone’s attention with its Half-Screen In-display fingerprint sensor and a Pop-out camera which can be triggered by opening the camera application.

4.Sony Xperia XZ2:

Sony has finally brought 18:9 display to its flagship smartphone. The Sony Xperia XZ2 is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The smartphone comes with Android Oreo 8.0 out of the box. The smartphone features a 19-megapixel f/1.8 sensor and a 5-megapixel front camera. The smartphone also shots 1080p 960 fps slow motion video.

5. Asus Zenfone 5:

Asus also announced their Zenfone 5 series. They announced the Zenfone 5, the Zenfone 5z and the Zenfone 5Lite. Asus also brought their own Zen Emoji which is their own version of Animoji. The Zenfone 5 also features an 18:9 display with a notch on the top similar to the iPhone X.

6.LG V30S ThinQ:

 

LG unveiled their LG V30S ThinQ and V30S+ ThinQ which is basically an LG V30 with AI(Augumentary Reality) technology enabled. Both the models come with a slightly old chipset the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 with 4GB of RAM  and 128GB of onboard storage. The smart[hone features a 6-inch QuadHD+(1440 x 2880 pixels) OLED FullVison display with 18:9 aspect ratio screen.

Other than this, there were also some other announcements made at the event such as the Doogee launched their Doogee V, Lenovo launched their Yoga laptops and Huawei also unveiled their Matebook Pro with a FullView touchscreen display and a fingerprint scanner. Alcatel launched their own Android Go smartphone and ZTE launched their Blade V9 smartphone.
