After launching the Redmi 5A and Redmi 5 Plus (Redmi Note 5), Xiaomi has finally launched it’s Redmi 5 smartphone in India. The Redmi 5 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage variant is priced at ₹7,999. The 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage variant is priced at 8,999 and the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant at ₹10,999.
The smartphone will be available exclusively via Amazon India, Mi.com starting 20th March.It is available in 4 colors. It comes with an ultra-slim transparent case free in the box. You can also get an instant cashback of ₹2,200 via Reliance Jio. The smartphone will also be available via Xiaomi offline partners.
The Redmi 5 is powered by the Snapdragon 450 processor coupled with Adreno 506 GPU and 2GB/3GB/4GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB/64GB of internal storage. The dual-SIM smartphone comes with a dedicated SD card slot. Redmi 5 sports a 5.7-inch HD 18:9 display and houses a 3,300 mAh battery with 17 days of standby time.
The smartphone comes with a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash. The entry-level smartphone sports a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with soft light for better selfies. Redmi 5 runs on Android Oreo out of the box with MIUI 9 on top. Xiaomi’s Redmi series has always been the best in entry-level segment and the Redmi 5 is no different.
