Share

Apple with iPhone X ditched the good old home button in the favor of an all screen display. This resulted in Apple relying on gestures to navigate through the OS. We have seen many Android smartphones without physcial navigaton keys as they relied on the on screen navigation buttons.

Now with Andrioid P, Android smartphones can ditch that too and adpot the iPhone style gesture navigation system. Google is all set to showcase its upcoming Android P operating system at Google I/O 2018 with a complete launch later this year. while we might see the main features at the launch, we can expect many important changes at Google I/O 2018.

This news about gestures came from Google only, While Google announced the availability of Private DNS mode on Android P Developer Preview, the screenshot revealed more than the private DNS mode. Instead of the usual back, home and recent keys at the bottom, the screenshot had a back key along with a small bar , just like on iPhone X for gesture control.

Do note, Google has now cropped the screenshot to hide this new feature. Thanks to the folks at ArsTechnia, we have the screenshot of the new navigation system. Looks like Google will not be relying on gestures completely but will use them for the home key for sure.
