After many leaks and rumors, Xiaomi has officially announced that it will launch its latest Xiaomi Mi 6X smartphone in China on 25th April 2018. The launch event will take place at Wuhan University, China and we can expect its global launch soon as the Xiaomi Mi A2.
According to the teaser posted by Xiaomi in Weibo, the Mi 6X will be available in a Blue color variant. From the back it looks just like the recently launched Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro with a dual vertical camera setup popularized by the Apple iPhone X.
The teaser also revealed that the smartphone will come with a 20-megapixel front facing camera for selfies and video calling. The dual rear camera will also have a 20-megapixel primary camera. We can also see a rear placed fingerprint scanner in the middle and a USB Type C port for charging and data syncing.
According to previous leaks Mi 6X aka Mi A2 will sport a 5.99-inch 18:9 aspect ratio display and will house a 2910mAh battery. The smartphone is expected to be powered by a 22Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor coupled with 4GB RAM and 64/128GB of internal storage variants.
Xiaomi Mi 6X will run on MIUI 9 on top of Android Oreo. The global variant Mi A2 will be an Android One smartphone which will come with Android 8.0 and guranteed Android updates. We will wait for Xiaomi to bring Mi 6X as Mi A2 in India soon. Stay tuned to Sid Tech for more tech updates.
