Blackberry is all set to launch the successor of its Blackberry KEYone smartphone next month in New York. Last Year, Blackberry launched the KEYone with the iconic blackberry keyboard in a premium Android smartphone. The smartphone was well received via the loyal blackberry fans.

Blackberry has officially announced for an event on 7th June in New York. The announcement said, ” An Icon Reborn” along with the Blackberry KEY2 branding at the bottom. The event will take place at 10 AM ET or 7:30 PM IST. Blackberry has not revealed anything about the smartphone yet.

While we don’t know much about the smartphone, last month a Blackberry smartphone was spotted on TENNA with a codename “Athena”. This is believed to be the Blackberry KEY2 but we are not sure as in January 2018, Blackberry President confirmed at least two smartphone launches in 2018.

First and the biggest change is the dual rear camera setup at the back. While almost every other smartphone manufacturer went for a dual camera setup in 2018, Blackberry has finally brought it with the KEYtwo. This time the back panel will be rubberised with texture finish.

Just like the KEYone it will have a 3:2 aspect ratio display along with that awesome blackberry keyboard. It will support all the gestures that we have seen before and may come with some new ones too. The smartphone will use USB Type-C for charging and data syncing along with a 3.5 mm headphone jack at the top.

Blackberry KEY2 is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 660 processor coupled with 4GB/6GB of RAM. It will run on Android Oreo out of the box with Blackberry’s own set of security apps. Let’s see what Blackberry will launch next month. Stay tuned to Sid Tech for more tech updates.
