Dell is Working on a Dual-Screen Windows Laptop – Report

Whether it is for a smartphone, tablet or laptop, companies are working on to bring Dual-Screen devices. There are many leaks and rumors that Microsoft is also working on a foldable dual-screen device. While we don’t have much about the Microsoft’s device other than a few patents, We have some information about a Dell Dual-Screen Laptop.

According to a report by WinFuture, Dell is working on a dual-screen Windows 10 devices which will be powered by an unreleased Qualcomm Snapdragon 850 processor. The device has been codenamed januss and Dell is working on the device since last summer.

We are not sure if this dual-screen laptop from Dell will ever make to market or not. Dell even tried bring its own Windows powered mobile device, but it did’t happen. And it is not only Dell, other OEM’s like HP, Lenovo, Asus are are also working on a similar device.

Another important thing to note here is that the device is running on an ARM processor, we have seen companies launching Windows 10 laptops with ARM processors. Microsoft is also experimenting with Andromeda OS, which is a special OS for these types of devices only.

Also as Microsoft had announced its departure from the Smartphone space, they did’t say that they will not bring any mobile device in future. And as the gap between Laptops, Smartphones and Tablets is diminishing year by year, we can see a new mobile hybrid device from Microsoft.

The first batch of products running on Snapdragon 850 processor is expected to be launched by the end of the summer. So we might see Dell announcing it. As the leaks are not from a trust worthy source, We would recommenced you to take it with a pinch of salt but we are surely going to see more and more ARM powered Windows Laptop.
