Users around the world use Incognito mode on different apps to use the app without being recorded in the history. Google has Incognito mode on its popular browser Chrome as well as on Gboard app. Now the company is all set to bring the incognito mode to YouTube app.
As reported by Android Authority, some Android users have spotted incognito mode on Youtube Android app. Normally if you are signed into YouTube, your search history, as well as your watched videos history is stored on Youtube. Though if you are not signed in there is no record.
Now with this new incognito mode You can search for a video or view one but it will not get recorded onto your history. Do note Incognito mode just clears the data for the app but the activity will still be logged with your internet service provider, Institution or Organisation etc.
This new change is a server-side update, and we don’t know when and if YouTube will release this feature for all. For some users, it is present in the My account menu as “Turn on Incognito”. You can access it by tapping your profile photo in the top right corner of the app.
Till you receive this new feature you can see your history and even delete it. To do so go to settings – history and privacy. As mentioned earlier this is an over-the-air update so you don’t need to install a new app but you should have the latest YouTube Android app. Stay tuned to Sid Tech for latest tech news, deals, reviews and more.
