Lenovo Z5 With Bezel-Less Display Teased Via a Sketch

While every smartphone manufacturer is launching its new smartphone with a display notch, Lenovo is all set to launch a fully bezel-less display smartphone. After Apple launched the iPhone X with a notch, every other Android manufacturer adopted the launch. Lenovo is trying to break the pattern with its Lenovo Z5.

Vivo had also showcased a similar smartphone at MWC 2018 but that is still not available in the market. Lenovo VP Chang Cheng posted this teaser sketch of the Lenovo Z5 on Weibo. The company has already confirmed the 95% screen to body ratio in the previous teaser.

It will be interesting to see what will Lenovo do for the front-facing camera. We have seen Vivo use a swivel camera with its Vivo Apex smartphone. We think Lenovo will go with that only for the Z5. Another expected technology is the Under Display fingerprint scanner.

We doubt that and think that Lenovo will opt for a rear placed fingerprint scanner. Talking about the earpiece, Lenovo might go the Xiaomi route and use an acoustic ceramic earpiece or vibrate the display to create sound. The smartphone is expected to launch on 14th June 2018, though there is no official confirmation about the launch.

We will have to wait till mid-June to see what Lenovo brings and will this new technology become a trend. Notches are not the permanent solution and one day or the other we will have to get rid of them. Looks like 2019 will be the year of fully-bezeless display smartphone.
