HMD Global re-launched the iconic Nokia brand with a promise of delivering fast security update. In 2018, Nokia announced that all of its future smartphones will run on Android One program. Now the company has started rolling out the May security patch update for the Nokia 2 and Nokia 8 Sirocco.
If you have any of the two smartphones, go to settings, About phone, software updates. Nokia 2 users in India and US are getting the update and users of Nokia 8 Sirocco in India are also reporting the update. As reported by Nokiapoweruser Nokia 2 (TA-1011, TA-1035) and Nokia 8 Sirocco (TA-1005) are both getting the updates.
According to the report, Nokia 8 Sirocco update weighs at 82.5MB and Nokia 2 updates weigh at 88MB. As this is just a security patch there are no changes but your Android is more secure. The Nokia is powered by a 1.3Ghz Snapdragon 212 processor coupled with Adreno 304 GPU.
It will come with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. Nokia 2 is made out of 6,000 series aluminium and sports a 5 inch HD display with gorilla glass 3 protection on top. The smartphone houses a massive 4,100 mAh battery which can give up to 2 days of battery life.
The smartphone will come with an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It is good to see a sub ₹10,000 smartphone is getting the latest security patch. Stay tuned to Sid Tech for latest tech news, deals, reviews and much more.
