One of the most awaited features on one of the most popular messaging apps in the world is group voice and video calls. Facebook-owned WhatsApp has started rolling out the feature for its WhatsApp Beta For Android, Last week people reported the same feature on WhatsApp for iOS.
Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg announced the feature at Facebook F8 conference earlier this month. As reported by AndroidPolice, group audio and video calls were working for some of the users having WhatsApp beta 2.18.162. I have the same version but can’t see the new feature as it is a server-side rollout.
So when you are on a call with someone you can simply tap the add contact icon at the top right of the screen and choose between your contacts to invite them. This feature works both for audio and video calls. Also when you are on a call with two persons and you get another call you have to option to add it to the group call.
It will support up to 4 people in starting and WhatsApp may add more people in the future. If you receive the new features let us know in the comments below or tweet us at @sidtechworld. Stay tuned to Sid Tech for latest tech news, deals, reviews and more.
