Xiaomi Mi 8 Live Images Leaked – Price, Specifications, 3D Facial Recognition

Yesterday, Xiaomi officially confirmed the Mi 8 launch event on 31st May 2018 in China. The company have skipped the Mi 7 to celebrate its 8th anniversary. While the smartphone has been leaked quite a lot in the recent past, now we have the Mi 8’s price, specifications and some live images.

As reported by GizmoChina, A slide from Xiaomi’s Mi 8 launch event has been leaked online on Weibo. According to the leaked slide, the smartphone will sport a 6.01-inch display and will come with an under-display fingerprint scanner. The scanner will be faster than the one seen on Vivo’s smartphone.

Xiaomi Mi 8 will run on Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with 6GB RAM/8GB RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage variants. The 6GB RAM variant of the phone is priced at CNY 2,799 around ₹29,990 and the 8GB RAM variant at CNY 3,199 around ₹34,200.

The Xiaomi smartphone will come with an AI camera with 2X optical zoom and at the front, we will have a structured 3D module for facial scanning. Xiaomi Mi 8 will be the first Android smartphone to come with 3D facial recognition like on the iPhone X.

Another leak on Weibo shows live images of the Mi 8. It looks like a sample unit as the back panel is transparent showing all the internals. It will have a vertical dual rear camera setup and wireless charging. At the front, we can see a notch at the top in middle housing the front-facing camera and all the relevant sensors.

The price looks solid and with these features, it will give some serious competition to the OnePlus 6. Xiaomi needs to launch this smartphone in India as well as globally as soon as possible to compete with the popular OnePlus 6.
