Discovering News, Events, Stories Is Now Easier On Twitter

Twitter is bringing a new update to its platform that will help you discover breaking news, events and relevant stories easily. Right now if you want to follow a particular topic,(#FIFAWorldCup2018) you have to find the relevant hashtags, accounts and moments to follow.

Now Twitter is making it easier for you to find and follow big events and stories in your timeline, notifications and explore.  Let’s start with explore tab, earlier explore area was categorized by content type but now it is categorized by topic ( Sports, Entertainment). This new explore tab will come to Twitter for iOS and Android in US in coming months.

We will have to wait more for a global release of the feature. “Starting today, at the top of search results, you’ll see related news, events, or stories and be able to tap in to get a recap and see the latest discussion, videos or scores.” Twitter announced.

Next is notifications, Now twitter will send you news and events notifications based on your interests (what you tweet about, what accounts you follow). By default this feature will be turned on but you can easily turn it off if you don’t these notifications. Again this feature will come to everyone in US on iOS and Android in coming weeks.

Another feature which will come to US in coming months is the news and events in your timeline. This will include breaking news as well as personalized events. At the top of your timeline you will see news that is relevant to you along with Tweets about that topic.

Moments are now vertical just like your twitter timeline. Some moments will temporarily continue to be horizontal and the change will come all users in coming weeks. And just like Apple and Google, Twitter is all set for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

There is a dedicated world cup page for you to follow and get news about every shot, save, and goal. This page is available at the top of your timeline, in search, or in Explore tab. The new page is available on Twitter or Android, iOS and Twitter mobile website.

This feature is available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, French, Italian, German, Russian, and Arabic.
