LG is all set to bring Google AR stickers to its latest flagship smartphone called the LG G7 ThinQ. Till now Google AR stickers were exclusive to Google Pixel smartphones only and LG G7 ThinQ will be the first smartphone to feature this Augmented Reality feature.
LG announced this via a post on its Korean blog. LG announced that with the next software update LG G7 ThinQ users will get AR stickers. As this was posted on the Korean blog we are not sure if the feature will be available globally in the first wave or not.
Also LG has not stated any timeline so we don’t know when LG will roll out the update. These new AR stickers will be accessible via the LG’s native camera app on the smartphone. LG has not stated what all stickers packs the smartphone will be getting but we expect all of them to be available.
AR Stickers use Google’s ARCore platform and works in real-time environment like a 3D object. This is not the first time LG and Google has partnered for something unique. LG G7 ThinQ and LG V30 ThinQ comes with come exclusive Google Assistant commands for a better experience.
It is good to see Google bringing its AR Stickers outside of Pixel smartphone. With this we can expect other manufactures to partner with Google and bring these AR stickers to their smartphones. At WWDC 2018, Apple also showed some promising Augmented Reality development. Stay tuned to Sid Tech for latest tech news, deals, reviews and more.
