Huawei sub-brand Honor launched a new smartphone called the Honor Play along with the Honor 9i 2018. The Honor Play is priced at CNY 1999 around ₹20,990 for the 4GB RAM variant and CNY 2399 around ₹25,000 for the 6GB RAM variant. There is also a special edition smartphone priced at CNY 2499 around ₹26,000.
The smartphone is now up for pre-order and will be available starting 11th June in China. The smartphone is powered by the Kirin 970-octa-core processor coupled with 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage expandable via microSD. It comes with a dedicated Network Processor (NPU).
Honor 7 Play sports a 6.3-inch full HD+ 19:9 aspect ratio display with 89% screen-to-body ratio. The smartphone comes with the GPU turbo technology which improves the graphics performance and at the same time reduces power consumption. According to the company it will boost the performance by 60% and reduce the power consumption by 30%.
It also gives HDR effect to even non-HDR games and is the first smartphone to come with GPU turbo technology. The technology will also come to Honor View 10 and Honor 10 smartphones in coming weeks via a software update. The Honor smartphone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.2 on top and houses a 3,750mAh battery.
It comes with a dual-rear camera setup with a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor to collect depth information. The front-facing camera is of 16-megapixel and comes with the popular portrait mode and 3D studio lighting like on iPhone X.
Honor 7 Play comes with 7.1 channel Histon sound and 3D game sound effects for a better gaming experience. There is also a special edition with a patterned back panel in Red and Black colors.
