One of the most popular photo-sharing platform, Instagram is all set to capture its next billion users from the developing countries. And to do this Facebook owned company has finally launched a lite version of its app called the Instagram Lite.
As reported by TechCrunch, Instagram Lite For Android has been listed on the Google Play Store. The company has not yet made any announcement about the same. The app is currently in testing and is only available for users in Mexico and will come to more developing countries in Future.
As the app is new it comes with the version number 22.214.171.124.145. The app is lightweight and can save your storage space as well as internet data as compared to the regular Instagram app. Unlike the original app, users cannot send messages via Insta Direct or upload videos to the platform.
We have seen many other companies like LinkedIn, Uber, Ola and even Facebook itself launch a lite version of its app for the developing countries. We expect Instagram to launch the app for India soon as it is a very promising market for them.
Other than the above mentioned features, the users on the Instagram Lite app will not be able to watch IGTV videos on the Lite app too. The app is focused on people having low-memory smartphones like the Android Oreo Go edition ones. Stay tuned to Sid Tech for latest tech news, deals, reviews and more.
