Microsoft Acquires Flipgrid – Makes It Free For Schools

Microsoft has made another acquisition and this time focuses on Social Education. Microsoft has acquired student video discussion platform called Flipgrid. Flipgrid is used by over 20 million students and teachers around the world and have users in 180 countries.

Microsoft has also announced that the platform is now free for teachers just like its Office 365. All the teachers who have purchased directly from Flipgrid after 18th June 2017 will receive a prorated refund. The amount will be refunded to the same card you have used to buy it.

If you are school and made a bulk order, you will receive an email from refunds@flipgrid.com to confirm your details and start the refund process. This is a great step by Microsoft to push social education around the world and help students all over the world learn in a fun way.

For those of you who don’t know Flipgrid is a video discussion platform for students and teachers. It allows users to discuss and reply to a particular topic by making video clips. Microsoft will help Flipgrid to grow its community and the platform will retain its brand and team.
