Microsoft is finally all set to launch a keyboard and mouse combo for Xbox One consoles. The company has partnered with one of the biggest gaming peripherals company Razer to enable Chroma RGB lighting support in Xbox games with the Keyboard and Mouse.

As reported by Windows Central, Microsoft had started briefing the developers about this project earlier this year. Microsoft and Razer presented Razer Turret keyboard and mouse combo at Xfest event for developers earlier this year.

With the Chroma RGB lighting, Microsoft can open an api for developers which can help then to enable the RGB lighting support in their games. We have seen that in the PC versions of the popular games like Overwatch, Dota 2 and many other games.

The presentation also talked about some rules and guidelines for the developers like a game pad support is still necessary for the game to be released for the Xbox. Also there can only be one mouse and keyboard combo supported at one time and there cannot be multiple combos like we have multiple game pads for multiplayer gameplay.

So how developers can use the keyboard and mouse support in a multiplayer game is up to them. They can specify different keys on the mouse and keyboard for different players just like you can do on PC games. Microsoft also suggest game developers to separate game pad players and keyboard + mouse players in a competitive game.

For-eg, PUBG mobile players cannot play with PUBG PC players and they have separate match-making rules. The presentation also reveals that all the Windows supported USB keyboard and mouse will be supported for the Xbox console including the Wireless one with a USB receiver.
