Last month at Facebook F8 Developer Conference, Mark Zuckerberg announced some new features for the Facebook owned photo sharing platform Instagram. One of the features announced at the conference was a new redesigned explore tab in Instagram which has reportedly started rolling out.
Facebook at F8 announced that the new explore tab will start to roll out in coming weeks. Now according to a report by 9to5Mac, the new redesigned Explore tab has started rolling out. The new tab is not very different than the old one it still shows you curated content from Instagram in tile-like format.
Now with the new tab you also get new topic channel at the top of the explore tab. These topic channels focus on a variety of different topics like Sports, TV & Movies and more. Along with this there is also a new For You section in which you see posts from other users.
These are posts based on you interests and behavior on the platform. The new redesigned explore tab is currently available to limited users as it is a gradual roll out. We expect everyone to get the new tab in the next couple of weeks on both Android and iOS.
Facebook is doing a lot with Instagram, recently they have launched their long videos format platform IGTV that let’s you post vertical videos for your followers.
