Share

Facebook at its F8 Developers conference announced that WhatsApp will soon get stickers. Now the latest WhatsApp For Android Beta shows a new Sticker Reactions tab. The new feature is available with WhatsApp For Android Beta version 2.18.189.

Just like every other WhatsApp feature, the new stickers reaction is not yet available for every WhatsApp beta tester. As reported by WABetaInfo, the feature is disabled by default and will be enabled in next releases. The new tab will arrive next to the GIF button in the Emoji’s tab in WhatsApp.

Just like Stickers on any other app, you will first have to download a sticker pack to use stickers available in that pack. According to the report these stickers will be categorized in four categories including LOL, Love, Sad and Wow. The Love icon is the default option in the stickers tab.

Right now there are only a few stickers available with at least a couple of them in every category. The current stickers include a dinosaur giving different reactions. The  new feature will bring WhatsApp close another popular messaging app in India called Hike.

Hike has been using stickers since its inception and is very popular among the Indian youth. As stated above, the feature is not yet available and is disabled by default for development. If you are a beta tester, we can expect beta testers to get the feature in the next couple of updates.

While there is no date for public release but we can expect WhatsApp to release the new feature to public app in the next couple of months. iOS and Windows versions will also get the new stickers features. Stay tuned to Sid Tech for latest tech news, deals, reviews and more.
