Xiaomi is all set to launch the next smartphone in its popular entry level Redmi series called the Redmi 6. While its predecessor Redmi 5 was launched just 6 months back, Xiaomi thinks its time to update the series. Xiaomi is expected to three new Redmi smartphones at the event including Redmi 6, Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 Plus or Pro.
Now just a day ahead of the launch, Xiaomi Founder and President Lin Bin has shared a poster of the Redmi 6 smartphone. The poster completely reveals the smartphone from the front. The smartphone looks just like its predecessor with an 18:9 aspect ratio display and thick bezels.
While many reports claimed that the Redmi 6 will come with a display notch, the poster states otherwise. There might be a display notch on Redmi 6 Plus/ Redmi 6 Pro variant. Xiaomi Redmi 6 Plus will sport a 5.84-inch full-HD+ 19:9 aspect ratio display with a small display notch at the top.
The Redmi 6 is expected to run on Snapdragon 626, therefore we can expect Snapdragon 660 on the Redmi6 Pro. The Xiaomi smartphone will come with 2GB/3GB/4GB RAM and 16GB/32GB/64GB of internal storage. It will come with a dual-rear camera setup with a 12-megapixel primary sensor and the secondary sensor is unknown.
The front-facing camera is of 5-megapixel for taking selfies and video calling. Xiaomi Redmi series is priced at under ₹10,000 in India and we expect same with the Redmi 6 series. Just like last year we expect Redmi 6A to start at ₹5,999, Redmi 6 at ₹7,999 and the Redmi 6 Plus at ₹9,999.
We don’t expect Xiaomi to launch the Redmi 6 Plus smartphone in India as it has just launched Redmi Y2 smartphone in India at the same price and there is no scope for the smartphone in the current Xiaomi Redmi India lineup. Stay tuned to Sid Tech for latest tech news, deals, reviews and more.
