Facebook is currently working on a new feature which will let you know how much time you are spending on the network. The feature is similar to what Google announced at Google I/O with Android P and what Apple announced at WWDC 2018 with iOS 12.
The “You Time on Facebook” feature is another step by a big tech company in the “time well spent” direction. All companies what people to get rid of their smartphone addiction and in this case their Facebook Addiction. As reported by TechCrunch the feature is called Your Time on Facebook.
The feature was buried in Facebook’s Android app and was spotted by the popular tipster Jane Manchun Wong. Along with this Facebook has also confirmed to TechCrunch that they are working on this feature and said “We’re always working on new ways to help make sure people’s time on Facebook is time well spent.”
We don’t know when they will launch the feature and in what all regions but we do know that the feature is coming soon. The new features your data on the time you have spent on the Facebook each day for the past 7 days and your average time spent per day.
Just like Apple it allows you to set daily limit after which the app will remind you to leave the app and do something else. You can also change your notification settings , so that the app won’t disturb you after your time for the day is over.
Apple at WWDC took the example of Facebook only for the smartphone addiction and this is a great step by the social media network. It can really help people stay productive and at the same time enjoy the social media platform. Stay tuned to Sid Tech for latest tech news, deals, reviews and more.
