Google has finally launched the latest version of the world’s most popular mobile operating system called Android Pie. Just like every year, there were many speculations about the name of the Android 9 and it is finally confirmed to be Android 9 Pie. The latest android version comes with many new features and looking at the adoption rate of its beta software, this might be the best Android version in terms of supported smartphones.
First of all, all the devices that were eligible for the Android 9 beta program have started getting the new update. The list includes smartphones from companies like Xiaomi, Sony. Essential, HMD Global, Oppo, Vivo and OnePlus. The update will also come to all the eligible Android One smartphones soon. And as said earlier, there are strong chances that you might get the Android P on your smartphone, unlike previous Android versions.
There are many useful features in the Android Pie like the Adaptive Battery and Adaptive Brightness feature. The adaptive battery feature will automatically save your battery by optimizing apps on the basis of your usage and priority. It comes with the all-new gesture-based navigation UI and built-in support for various types of notches.
One of the biggest features announced at Google I/O 2o18 was Digital Wellbeing. With Android Pie, you are getting Digital Wellbeing as an additional setting. To get the setting you should be running on the latest Android 9 operating system on your Pixel smartphone and you need to sign up to get an email from Google. Accepting the link in the mail will automatically install Digital Wellbeing on your smartphone within 24 hours.
Other Android phones will get Digital Wellbeing later this year. Digital Wellbeing tells you the time your spending on an app and lets you control it by setting a daily limit. It will grey out the icon after the daily time limit is up. It also comes with a better Do Not Disturb Mode and a Wind Down mode which will switch on the night light and the DND mode.
