Share

Google owned popular video sharing platform YouTube has announced a much awaited feature for its creator that will let them earn more revenue from the platform. YouTube today announced that all the creators who can already monteize their videos will soon be able to tunr on non-skippable ads for all the videos.

This new change will start rolling out next week and all those who are eligible will get the notification on their YouTube dashboard. For those of you who don’t know non-skippable ads are those advertismenets that users cannot skip and they have to watch the complete advertisement before watching your video. Earlier this year YouTube changes the limit of non-skippable ads to 20-seconds as they feel there should not be more delay for watching a video.

Non-skippable ads technically means for revenue as advertisers pay Google more for the non-skippable ads and at the end Google also pays you more. This will also result in more revenue for Google. One down side of non-skippable ads is user retention, viewer might not watch your video just because of that annoying ad. But as said before, Google has limited the ad duration to 20-seconds which is not that bad.

YouTube is also adding a tool for creators to bulk add or remove non-skippable ads from their previous videos. Analytics have been improved too which will result in creators getting better insights on from which type of ad they are gaining more revenue. This will also help you judge whether non-skippable ads is good thing for you or not. So earn more from YouTube in 2018 with the new feature.
