We are now little over a month away from the Google Pixel 3 launch and leaks and rumours are coming regularly. The latest one points towards a wide angle lens for super selfies and a visual core chip.

According to a report by 9to5Google, Google will continue with a single rear camera setup but this time will have an additional visual core chip for better image processing. We have seen Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL knock off the competition with just a single rear camera and now with a visual core chip, Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will be even better.

For the front camera setup, Google is going for a dual camera setup out of which one will be a Wide angle lens. According to the report, Google will introduce what they may call Super Selfies with the new smartphones which essentially means wider selfies with the wide angle lens. Google will also utilize the second lens for collecting depth information for better portrait mode selfies.

Google might also use this for a better facial recognition system as no report till now has mentioned anything about an infrared sensor. All the reports till now have confirmed that Google is going with a single rear lens and a dual camera set up on both the Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel 2 XL.
