While we have seen many leaks and rumours about the upcoming Google Pixel 3 and Google Pixel 3 XL, Google has now accidentally disclosed the launch date of 2018 Pixel smartphones. As spotted by YouTuber Brandon from this is tech today, Google has accidentally leaked the launch date via Famebit campaign for the Google Pixel 3.
Famebit is an influencer marketing platform where creators can get new campaigns from the marketer. One such campaign was published for Canadian YouTubers only who are not using a Google Pixel smartphone. The campaign asked creators to switch to a Pixel 3 smartphone and make a video about their experience of switching to the Google Pixel 3.
In the campaign, it was mentioned that ” The Pixel 3 phone is launching October 4th, 2018. Looking for Canadian creators ONLY”. Along with this, the date for making the video live is also 4th October 2018. We can’t confirm if the campaign was posted by Google itself but looking at the past, October 4th looks like the perfect date. Folks at Android Police have confirmed that the campaign is live and have posted some screenshots.
The previous two generations of the Pixel series were also launched on 4th October. The smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with up to 6GB of RAM. There is also a rear faced circular fingerprint scanner.
Google Pixel and Pixel 3 XL will come with an 18:9 and 19:9 aspect ratio display respectively and will use USB Type-C for charging and data syncing. Google Pixel 3 XL will be the same as the Google Pixel 2 XL in terms of size and Google will utilize the new notch for a larger display.
