Last year, Apple launched one of the most powerful tablets in the world called the iPad Pro and now Apple is all set to launch the iPad Pro 2. According to the latest report, the next iPad will come with thinner bezels and Face ID like on the iPhone X but with no display notch. The iPad Pro will also ditch the iconic Home Button to get thinner bezels and the touch ID will get replaced by the Face ID.
All this information comes via a new icon found in the iOS 12 developer beta 5. As reported by 9to5Mac, the new blue color icon shows a tablet with thinner bezels all around and no home button. Interestingly the new icon also ditches the front-facing camera which was present in the previous icon.
We have seen a similar kind of leak last year with the iPhone X. So we can safely assume that the 2nd generation iPad Pro will come with thinner bezels, no home button and the popular Face ID facial recognition system. As this is a tablet we don’t expect as thin bezels as the iPhone X. This is because you need some part to hold the iPad easily. This also explains why there is notch at the top even when there are rumours that iPad Pro 2 will come with the Face ID.
The top bezel will be broad enough to house all the important sensors needed for the facial recognition system to work. While there have been gestures on the iPad form a long time, with no home button we will finally see a completely gesture based UI for the new iPad.
