After a year of total silence, Micromax sub-brand Yu Televentures has launched a new entry-level smartphone called the Yu Ace. The Yu Ace is priced at Rs. 5,999 for the 2GB RAM variant and a 3GB RAM variant is expected to launch soon. The smartphone will be available exclusively via Flipkart at 12 Noon on 6th September 2018.
Yu Ace is powered by the MediaTek MTK6739 quad-core processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The Yu smartphone runs on Android Oreo out of the box and comes with microSD card support. It sports a 5.45-inch HD+ 18:9 aspect ratio display with 2.5D curved glass protection on top.
Yu Ace comes with a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for taking selfies and video calling. It houses a massive 4,000mAh battery and comes with a rear placed fingerprint scanner. Micromax Yu Ace comes with dual SIM dual 4G VoLTE support.
The smartphone also comes with the popular Face Unlock feature via the front-facing camera. The Yu Ace will face a tough competition from the recently launched Realme 2 smartphone and the upcoming Redmi 6 series of smartphones. Redmi 6A is expected to be priced at Rs. 5,999.
